Wanaka Private Helicopter Pilots Association
The Wanaka Private Helicopter Pilots Association is a member-based group that holds a shared DOC helicopter-landing concession on behalf of its private-pilot members, in the same model as the Recreational Backcountry Pilots Association does for fixed-wing pilots. It is not a commercial operator and does not sell flights or training.
The concession spans much of the eastern and southern South Island — Aoraki/Mt Cook, Central Otago, Geraldine, Mahaanui, North Canterbury, Te Anau, Twizel and Wakatipu — letting members land at agreed DOC sites under common rules. The association has no public website and there are no published contact details beyond DOC's concession record.
