The Helicopter Line has been operating since 1986 and describes itself as Aotearoa New Zealand's leading locally owned helicopter operator. It runs five South Island bases — Queenstown, Aoraki/Mount Cook, Milford Sound, Franz Josef and Fox Glacier — and is part of the wider Totally Tourism group.
The Queenstown base flies scenic tours over The Remarkables, Cecil Peak and the Wakatipu basin, with longer products into Milford Sound and the Southern Alps. They also operate heli-hike products, ice-climbing trips and private charters covering heli-ski, hunting, fishing and climbing expeditions, plus wine and gin tours and wedding experiences.
