South Pacific Helicopters was established in October 2016 by Monique and Daniel Stevenson, and played a role in restoring access to Kaikōura after the November 2016 earthquake cut the town off by road. The company is locally owned and operates a fleet that includes a six-seat Eurocopter EC130.
From its West End base in Kaikōura, the company offers whale-watching aerial tours, scenic mountain and coastal flights with alpine and coastal landings, heli-weddings, heli-hunting and a range of indulgent experiences including heli-picnics, gin and wine tastings and culinary flights.
