Station Air Limited
· Mesopotamia Station, Rangitata Gorge Road, Geraldine, New Zealand
Station Air Limited is the in-house helicopter operation at Mesopotamia Station, a historic high-country station at the head of the Rangitata River. It is owned and flown by Malcolm Prouting (flying since 1992), who recently bought the company and its MD 520N NOTAR from his father.
From the Mesopotamia base, Station Air drops hunters, trampers and skiers into prime DOC blocks around the Rangitata headwaters — Crooked Spur, Potts Hut, Growler, Mistake Flat, St Winifred's, McCoy, Forest Creek and Carney's — and provides fly-camping access for West Coast chamois and Rakaia tahr. It is primarily a backcountry-access operator with strong tahr-hunting connections.
