Northern Rescue Helicopter Limited

Northern Rescue Helicopter is operated by the Northland Emergency Services Trust (NEST), a non-profit registered charity established in 1988 to serve the Northland region. Over 37 years of operation, the trust has transported more than 30,000 patients and is funded largely through community sponsorship and donations.

The service operates rescue helicopters 365 days a year, providing emergency medical response and air ambulance transport across Northland. Its remit covers the region's remote communities, unsealed roads and weather-affected areas where ground-based emergency services face long response times. The base is moving to Whangārei Airport.
