Cedar Lodge Propco LCC
Makarora · 74 School Road, Makarora 9382
Eleven Cedar Lodge is a small fly-fishing lodge near the Makarora River on the edge of Mt Aspiring National Park in the South Island. Run since the 1990s with four double-occupancy guest rooms, it operates as an all-inclusive heli-fishing programme for small groups of anglers, with local guides who between them carry decades of backcountry experience.
The lodge is built around helicopter-accessed walk-and-stalk sight fishing for wild brown and rainbow trout on remote rivers and streams, using exclusive permits into Mt Aspiring National Park. Stays bundle scenic flights, chef-prepared meals and supplied tackle (Thomas & Thomas, Hatch, Patagonia), with optional add-ons including heli-hiking, mountain biking, jet boating, wine tours and horse riding.
