The Auckland Aero Club is a long-established flying club founded close to a century ago and based at Ardmore Airport in Papakura, south Auckland. It is a recreational and commercial flight training organisation rather than a helicopter operator, working from one of New Zealand's busiest GA airports with access to the Hauraki Gulf and the Hunua Ranges.
The club has seven instructors across different certification levels and operates a fleet of single-engine fixed-wing aircraft including Cessna 172S, 172N, C-152 and A152 Aerobat. Services include private and commercial pilot training, dual and solo instruction, aircraft dry hire, aerobatics training, competition flying, club trips, the Young Eagles youth programme and ground theory courses.
