Rivers South Safaris is a game estate in the foothills of the Sherwood range near Lake Opuha, about 14 km from Fairlie and 2.5 hours south of Christchurch. The property carries one of the broader species lists in South Canterbury, with around 15 game animals available across estate and free-range country.
Species include red stag, Himalayan bull tahr, wapiti, fallow, chamois, Arapawa ram, sika, Javan rusa, sambar, white-tail, water buffalo, feral ox, Pere David, wild boar and feral goat. Hunts are run as fair-chase estate hunts with rifle, bow or muzzleloader and graded by SCI score for the red stags.
Daily rates and trophy fees are quoted in USD, with bundled red-stag-plus packages and observer rates published. Lodge accommodation and trophy processing are included in the standard packages.
