Mountain Hunters

Mountain Hunters is run by Brent Sinclair out of Homewood Road in the southern Wairarapa, about three miles inland from the Pacific. The North Island home block totals over 25,000 acres of private coastal hill country and runs red stag, fallow buck, rusa, sika, elk, sambar, wild boar, wild ram and Pacific goat. For tahr and chamois the team flies clients across to South Island concessions in the Southern Alps - roughly a two-hour transfer.

Hunts are lodge-based on the Wairarapa property, with the operation offering a hunt guarantee on its North Island estate work. Rifle, bow and muzzle-loader hunts are all run, and packages start at $4,500 for a trophy red stag. The two-island setup lets clients combine an estate red stag with a free-range alpine hunt inside one trip.
