Ordinary5,975 haPermit: Permitted

Murumuru Conservation Area is a large 5,975 ha block in the Manawatu-Wanganui region, with its own permit area. Elevations run from about 153 m up to 637 m, with a median around 366 m, so it sits as lowland to mid-altitude bush country well below the bushline.

Aspects are evenly spread, with a slight lean to south and south-east. There is no single dominant face — the block is a broad rolling spread of bush-clad spurs and gully systems. At nearly 6,000 hectares it is a serious piece of country with room to set parties on different sidles without crowding.

Game on the permit includes red deer, fallow deer, sika, wild goat and wild pig. It carries the full set of central North Island bush species, including sika.
