Mt Cook Trophy Hunting
Twizel
Mt Cook Trophy Hunting is a Twizel-based outfit with a WARO (helicopter hunting) concession across most of the South Island — Aoraki/Mt Cook, Geraldine, North Canterbury, Twizel, Nelson Lakes, South Marlborough, Central Otago, Te Anau, Wakatipu and the West Coast — plus a deer-pen permit.
Quarry includes red stag, elk/wapiti, fallow, Himalayan tahr, chamois, Arapawa ram, rusa, sambar, white-tail and wild boar, with waterfowl and small game on top. Packages are graded Silver and Gold by red stag SCI class, in 5- or 7-day formats with optional helicopter access for tahr and chamois.
Accommodation ranges from luxury suites to mountain huts, with dining in Lake Tekapo. Daily rates and chopper time are posted in USD; package costs are quoted on enquiry.
