Whitikau Conservation Area is a 405 hectare public hunting block in the Gisborne/Raukumara permit area, eastern Bay of Plenty. Elevations run from 340 m up to 837 m, with a median of 496 m — lowland to mid-elevation bush country sitting below the bushline.
The block is Raukumara-edge bush country. Slopes lean south on the dominant aspect, with strong shares of south-east and south-west giving shaded faces and gully systems through much of the day.
Game on the permit includes red deer, fallow deer, wild goat and wild pig. The four-species mix fits this block's place on the wider Raukumara range.
