Powataunga Scenic Reserve is a 973 ha block in the Manawatu-Wanganui region, taken out under the Whanganui Reserves permit area. Elevations run from about 194 m up to 607 m, with a median around 414 m, so it sits as lowland to mid-altitude bush country well below the bushline.
