Part Rip Allocation No.1 Conservation Area
Part Rip Allocation No.1 Conservation Area is a 413-hectare block in the Gisborne / Raukumara permit area, sitting on the East Coast hill country east of the main Raukumara divide. Elevations run from 205 m to 1,171 m with a median of 626 m, so country swings from lowland gully bottoms up into hill country approaching the bushline.
The block faces predominantly east, with significant south-east and north-east aspects holding the morning sun. Expect bush-clad ridges and steep East Coast gut systems.
The block carries red deer, sika, wild goat and wild pig. Sika this far east is uncommon, which gives the block more interest than the size suggests.
