Otawa Scenic Reserve
Otawa Scenic Reserve is a 476 hectare public hunting block in the Tauranga Area permit zone, Bay of Plenty. Elevations run from 37 m up to 545 m, with a median of 260 m — lowland country with a wide elevation spread for its size, sitting well below the bushline.
The block is bush-covered ground in the coastal hills south-east of Tauranga. Slopes lean east on the dominant aspect, with a fair share of south-east and north faces giving warm coastal sidles through much of the day.
Game on the permit includes red deer, fallow deer, wild goat and wild pig. The four-species mix makes for varied day-hunt options.
