This is bush-covered ground in the Kaharoa area north-west of Rotorua. Slopes lean south-east on the dominant aspect, with strong shares of east and south giving mostly shaded faces — useful country to keep cool and quiet in summer hunting.
Game on the permit includes red deer, fallow deer, wild goat and wild pig. The four-species mix gives plenty of options on what is otherwise a small block.
