Wekaweka Scenic Reserve
Wekaweka Scenic Reserve is a small 177 ha block in central Northland sitting at higher foothill elevations. Elevations run from 316 m up to 587 m with a median of 432 m, placing the whole block in mid-altitude bush below the bushline.
Aspect is dominated by north-west and west, with around two thirds of the block facing those directions and a smaller share to the north. The afternoon-sun bias is strong. Country is subtropical regenerating bush typical of central Northland's higher foothills.
Game on the permit is wild goat and wild pig. The strong west-facing aspect makes this a logical goat block.
