Ahipara Conservation Area

Ordinary3,380 haPermit: Permitted

The Ahipara Conservation Area is a 3,380 ha block on the far western flank of Northland, sitting close to sea level. Elevations run from near sea level up to 300 m with a median of 146 m, so this is lowland and foothill country rather than anything resembling tops.

The block leans west, with the strongest aspect share to the west and south-west and a smaller share through to the south. Country is subtropical, with regenerating bush and scrub mixed through gully systems on warm, low-altitude faces.

Wild pig is the listed species. There are no deer on the permit, so trips here are pig-focused rather than mixed-species hunts.
