Takaputahi Conservation Area is a 696 hectare public hunting block in the Gisborne/Raukumara permit area, eastern Bay of Plenty. Elevations run from 293 m up to 856 m, with a median of 490 m — lowland to mid-elevation bush country sitting well below the bushline.
This is Raukumara-edge country, with bush ground typical of the wider range. Slopes lean south on the dominant aspect, with strong shares of south-east and south-west giving shaded faces and gully systems through the day.
Game on the permit includes red deer, wild goat and wild pig. The country fits the wider Raukumara mixed-bush hunting profile.

Access & getting there
