The block is bush-covered ground in the Mamaku country south of Tauranga. Slopes lean north on the dominant aspect, with a fair share of north-east and south-east faces giving a mix of warm and shaded sidles.
Game on the permit includes red deer, wild goat and wild pig. The reasonable size and three-species mix make this a useful block for day or short overnight trips.
