Marlborough Forest
Marlborough Forest is a 3,982 ha block in central Northland — not to be confused with the South Island region of the same name. Elevations run from 167 m up to 700 m with a median of 500 m, sitting in foothill to mid-altitude bush well below the bushline.
Aspect leans north, with strong shares also facing east, north-west and north-east — a sunnier set of faces than many neighbouring Northland blocks. The forest carries subtropical kauri-podocarp-broadleaf bush typical of inland Northland.
