South Pacific Safaris New Zealand

Kaikoura · 2220 State Highway One, Kaikoura, New Zealand

South Pacific Safaris operates from a 4,000-acre private game estate near Kaikoura on the South Island east coast, with adjoining access to thousands of acres of free and wild country for tahr and chamois. Species offered are red stag, elk, fallow buck, tahr, chamois, Arapawa ram, feral goat and wild boar.

The lodge is set on State Highway 1 south of Kaikoura with views across the valley to the Seaward Kaikoura Range and out to the ocean. Estate hunts run lodge-based on the 4,000-acre block; alpine pursuits work into the wider wilderness on foot with helicopter scenic flights available as a non-hunting add-on.

Packages are custom-designed per client rather than fixed price tiers — quotes come back on enquiry. The coastal setting and Kaikoura location are unusual: most South Island trophy outfits sit inland, so this is one of the few options for hunters who want ocean views and access to Kaikoura's marine activities alongside the hunt.
