High Peak Hunting New Zealand

Windwhistle

High Peak is the Guild family's 10,000-acre Canterbury high-country station at the foothills of the Southern Alps, 80km west of Christchurch International Airport. Around 4,500-5,000 acres are actively hunted within a 30km perimeter fence, with terrain rising from 1,500ft through to 3,000-6,000ft for tahr and chamois pursuits.

The lodge-based operation runs guided spot-and-stalk rifle, muzzleloader and archery hunts for red stag, fallow buck, Arapawa ram, Pacific goat, wild boar, tahr, chamois and elk. Packages are quoted in USD, with combination hunts ranging from US$6,500 for a red stag-only package up to US$34,500+ for a seven-species hunt. À la carte daily rates and trophy fees are clearly published.

Proximity to Christchurch makes High Peak a practical option for fly-in hunters who want a Canterbury station experience without the longer transfer to Wanaka or the West Coast. Suited to hunters wanting multi-species in a single five-day window from a fixed lodge base.
