Glenroy Hunting Safaris

Glenroy Hunting Safaris is run by Jim Hunter out of Queenstown, working a long list of species across the Wakatipu and wider Southern Lakes country. The setup is lodge-based with fishing on Lake Hayes, Lake Wakatipu and the nearby trout rivers complementing the hunting.

Quarry includes red stag, elk/wapiti, fallow, white-tail, chamois, Himalayan tahr, wild goat, Arapawa ram and American bison, with hare, rabbit and possum thrown in as complimentary small game. Stewart Island-strain white-tail is on the list, which is unusual for a Queenstown-based outfit.
