Doughboy Hunting Lodge sits on Doughboy Road near Murchison on the Tasman/West Coast boundary. The hunting is done from the guide's own ranch in the surrounding mountains and bush, with the operation now in its fourth decade under Alex.
The ranch carries red stag, fallow, tahr, chamois, wapiti/elk, Arapawa ram, wild goat and wild boar, plus waterfowl, Canada geese and turkey. Trips run from one-day meat hunts up to multi-species trophy packages, with a long-range rifle range and clay-bird setup on site for groups.
Meat hunts are priced openly; trophy and big-game packages are quoted on application.
