Waipu Gorge Forest is a small 146 ha block in southern Northland. Elevations run from 32 m up to 159 m with a median of 90 m, putting the whole block in very low foothill bush below the bushline.
Aspect leans south, with notable shares facing south-east, south-west and north-east. The block carries subtropical regenerating bush threading through the gorge country.
Wild pig is the only listed species.
