Travellers
Travellers is a 4,117-hectare roar block on the Molesworth Station and Clarence grazing lease, in inland Marlborough. Elevations run from 903 m to 1,610 m with a median of 1,152 m — country that sits right around the bushline through much of the block.
Forty per cent of the block sits above the 1,200 m bushline and just 3% is alpine, putting it on the upper edge of the mix-of-bush-and-tops bracket. The country leans east-facing, with strong east, north-east and south-east aspects catching morning sun.
The permit covers red deer and chamois. Reds hold the bush-edge band and head-of-catchment gullies, chamois the upper open faces and ridge systems.

What you can hunt here
This is a roar — the red deer roar peaks from late March into April, and competition for the block is highest then.
Access & getting there
Air access is not permitted on Travellers, and WARO is not permitted either, so the country is walked. Access runs from the legal entry points on the Molesworth system.
No DOC huts sit within the block, so plan to fly camp or work from a base outside. Carry a fly or tent and check Molesworth access status before leaving — the station road network is seasonal.
