Te Rangipai Scenic Reserve
Te Rangipai Scenic Reserve is a small 105 ha block in the Manawatu-Wanganui region, taken out under the Palmerston North Area Reserves permit area. Elevations run from about 423 m up to 597 m, with a median around 513 m, so it sits as mid-altitude bush country well below the bushline.
The block has a strong north-and-north-east lean, with about 30% of the country facing north, 19% north-east and useful shares also picking up north-west and south. Southerly and south-easterly aspects are limited. That gives a clear set of warm, sun-facing sidles dominating the block.
Game on the permit includes red deer and wild goat. It is a small, focused short-stalk block in the western Ruahine foothills.
