Otangimoana Conservation Area
Otangimoana Conservation Area is a 926 hectare public hunting block in the Bay of Plenty. Elevations run from 625 m up to 712 m, with a median of 656 m — a tight mid-elevation band sitting well below the bushline.
The block has a narrow elevation spread, so this is essentially a plateau or sidling country at a single contour band. Slopes lean north-west on the dominant aspect, with strong shares of north and west giving warm sunlit faces through much of the day.
Game on the permit is red deer and sika. The sika entry makes this block part of the wider central North Island sika range.
