Otaika Valley Scenic Reserve
Otaika Valley Scenic Reserve is a 334 ha block in the Otaika hill country south of Whangārei. Elevations run from 11 m up to 241 m with a median of 133 m, so the entire reserve sits in low coastal foothill bush.
Aspect leans south-west, with strong shares also facing south. The block carries subtropical regenerating bush typical of southern Northland's coastal hills.
Wild goat is the only listed species — no pigs on this block's permit. That makes it a focused goat block rather than a mixed-species hunt.
