Mangaone Scenic Reserve is a 579 hectare public hunting block in the Rotorua Lakes and surrounds permit area, Bay of Plenty. Elevations run from 47 m up to 425 m, with a median of 212 m — lowland country sitting well below the bushline.
The block is bush-covered ground with a wide elevation spread for its size. Slopes lean south-east on the dominant aspect, with a fair share of east and south faces giving shaded gully systems through much of the day.
Game on the permit is red deer and wild pig. The country is timbered throughout, so expect still-hunting in the bush.
