Hidden Gorge Scenic Reserve
Hidden Gorge Scenic Reserve is a 464 hectare public hunting block in the Tauranga Area permit zone, Bay of Plenty. Elevations run from 8 m up to 270 m, with a median of 111 m — coastal lowland country well below the bushline.
The block is low, warm bush country in the western Bay of Plenty. Slopes lean east on the dominant aspect, with a fair share of north and north-east faces giving warm sunny sidles through much of the day.
Game on the permit is red deer and wild goat. Goats are the realistic target on country this low and warm.

Given the gorge in the name, expect steep bush travel rather than open glassing — work the bush faces for goats and pigs.
