Crimea
Crimea is a 4,210-hectare roar block on the Molesworth Station and Clarence grazing lease, in the inland Marlborough high country. Elevations run from 992 m to 2,016 m with a median of 1,385 m, putting the entire block above 900 m — true high-country terrain.
Seventy-nine per cent of the block sits above the 1,200 m bushline and 34% is alpine, so this is mostly above the bushline tops country, with broad tussock basins, scree and bony ridge systems dominating. The aspect mix is even, with a slight east-facing lean, so glassing options exist on multiple sides of the catchment through the day.
The permit covers red deer and chamois. The open tops country particularly suits chamois work; reds hold the lower fringes and bush-edge bands at the head of each gully.

What you can hunt here
This is a roar — the red deer roar peaks from late March into April, and competition for the block is highest then.
Access & getting there
Air access is not permitted on Crimea, and WARO is not permitted either, so the country is left to walk-in hunters during the roar. Access is from the legal entry points on the Molesworth station system.
No DOC huts sit within the block, so this is fly-camp country — tussock pitches, ridge camps and stream-side flats are your options. Carry a fly or tent and check Molesworth access status before leaving, as the station road network runs to seasonal rules.
