This is Whirinaki country, with podocarp and mixed-bush cover typical of the wider forest. Slopes lean north-west on the dominant aspect, with a spread of other faces giving a mix of sun and shade to work in different winds.
Game on the permit is red deer and wild pig. Quiet still-hunting in the bush is the realistic approach.
