Adams Flat is a 2,004 ha balloted Roar block in the Franz Josef - Waiau permit area. Elevations climb from 538 m on the lower edges to 2,423 m on the tops, with a median around 1,361 m.
This is predominantly alpine country — 65% of the block sits above the 1,200 m bushline and 35% pushes into ground above 1,500 m. The dominant aspect is north-east, giving the main faces good morning sun.
The block carries red deer, tahr and chamois. With the bulk of the country above the bushline, it works best as a tahr and chamois block, with red deer through the limited lower bush.

This is a balloted roar block — the red deer roar peaks from late March into April, and competition for the block is highest then.
Access & getting there
Air access is not permitted on this block, so parties commit to a walk-in and climb out of the bush to reach the alpine ground. WARO is permitted on the block.
