Free-Range Hunting New Zealand
Te Awaiti
Free-Range Hunting New Zealand operates from a 20,000-acre coastal property at Te Awaiti in the Wairarapa, including more than seven miles of private Pacific coastline. The home block runs red stag, fallow buck, pigs, goats and small game. For tahr and chamois the team works alpine country in the Southern Alps under DOC concessions, treating the South Island as a separate backcountry leg of the operation.
Access on the home property is by hiking, 4x4 or helicopter, with a remote hunting cabin used as the main base and spike camps put in for backcountry work. South Island alpine hunts are run from small wilderness huts and tent camps. Guides are members of the New Zealand Professional Hunting Guides Association.
Product lines include 1-day hunting experiences, 3-day introductory courses and corporate retreats alongside the standard multi-day guided trophy hunts. No public pricing is published on the site; bookings go through the Te Awaiti lodge line or email.
