Waipuna Scenic Reserve

Ordinary350 haPermit: Permitted

Waipuna Scenic Reserve is a 350 ha scenic reserve in the western King Country. The country is lowland to foothill country, broken by gully systems, regenerating bush and limestone outcrops typical of the inland Waikato. Elevations run from about 220 m up to 464 m, with a median sample around 380 m.

The block leans predominantly to the east, so shaded sidles and faces are common on that side of the country.

Game on the permit includes red deer, fallow deer, wild goat and wild pig. With its modest size, this suits a short, focused stalk rather than a multi-day trip.
