Neinei I Kura
Neinei I Kura is a 1,643 ha block in the Central Otago and The Remarkables permit area. Elevations run from 542 m on the lower faces to 1,521 m on the tops, with a median of 1,038 m. Twenty-two per cent of the country sits above the 1,200 m bushline, just nudging into the upper tussock band.
This is mostly mid-elevation country with a mix of bush and tussock-edge ground, leaning south-west — the slopes catch afternoon sun and the higher faces hold shade into the morning. Open faces and gully heads dominate the upper third, with denser cover lower down.
Game on the permit is red deer, fallow deer, wild goat and wild pig. The mid-elevation character and four-species permit make it a flexible block for parties working the bush edges and lower tussock.
