The block is bush-covered ground with a narrow elevation band — most of the country sits between 685 m and 720 m. Slopes lean north on the dominant aspect, giving warm sunlit faces and a fair share of cooler aspects to fall back on.
Game on the permit is red deer. The country fits within the wider central North Island deer range.
