Track & Trail Safaris is Chris Bilkey's personal guiding operation based out of Geraldine in South Canterbury. Chris runs one-on-one fair-chase and estate hunts on exclusive private properties, with an emphasis on serious trophy hunters who want individual attention rather than a group experience. Husband-and-wife teams and family groups are also a core part of the client mix.

The outfit hunts a range of South Canterbury terrain, from tussock high country for tahr and chamois through to lowland private estates for red stag and fallow buck. Accommodation is first-class throughout, with quality meals and genuine Kiwi hospitality forming a central part of the package rather than an afterthought.

Geraldine sits at the gateway to the Canterbury foothills and is within a comfortable drive of both Christchurch airport and the main Mackenzie Basin hunting country. Chris has spent decades in the area and his local knowledge of properties and animal movements is the main point of difference over larger outfitting operations.
