Rangitata Hunting New Zealand
Peel Forest
Rangitata Hunting New Zealand operates from Peel Forest in inland South Canterbury, with around 55,000 acres of privately-owned alpine foothill country backing onto the Southern Alps. Hunts run directly from a lodge on the property rather than via fly camps.
Species are Himalayan tahr, chamois, red stag, fallow buck and New Zealand elk, with bow hunting catered for. The terrain is alpine and tussock — typical Rangitata headwaters country — and the lodge runs a full chef-cooked food and drinks programme alongside hunts.
Pricing is not posted on the public site; trips are quoted on the species list and dates.
