Glen Dene Hunting & Fishing

Glen Dene Hunting & Fishing operates from Glen Dene Station on the shore of Lake Hawea, near Wanaka, with nearly 15,000 acres of freehold land including more than 12 miles of lakefront across both Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka. The Scaife family run the station, with hunting for red stag, fallow buck, chamois, Arapawa rams and South Pacific goats on the property, plus bull tahr on adjoining alpine country.

Red stag packages are tiered by SCI score (Bronze 330 SCI, Silver 331-370, Gold 371-410), and combo packages cover red stag with tahr or a full Grand Slam (red stag, fallow buck, bull tahr, chamois). Packages run seven days, six nights with five days of guiding plus lodge accommodation, meals (with beer and wine) and airport transfers.

Accommodation mixes premium lodging at the station with backcountry hut experiences for alpine hunts. Prices are quoted on inquiry rather than published. The lake-edge station base is unusual and suits hunters mixing trophy hunts with fly-fishing or family travel.
