Woodbank
Woodbank is a small 824 ha public hunting block in Canterbury. Elevations run from around 440 m up to 1,137 m, with a median of about 740 m.
This is lowland / foothill country with no real tops — the entire block sits below the 1,200 m bushline. Hunters are working bush, shrubland and lower-elevation faces rather than glassing open tussock country. Slopes lean predominantly south, which keeps the bush cool and damp; east-facing ground also makes up a significant share, giving some morning-sun faces.
It holds red deer, chamois and wild pig. On a block this size and elevation, a stalk-and-call approach through the bush is the realistic plan.
