Waipori Falls

Roar3,107 haPermit: Permitted

Waipori Falls is a 3,107 ha Roar block in the Coastal Otago north of the Catlins permit area, in the hill country inland of Dunedin. Elevations run from 22 m to 586 m, with a median of 280 m — lowland / foothill country with no bushline.

This is mixed bush, scrub and farmland-edge country across rolling foothills, leaning south. The block sits in the wetter Waipori catchment, so expect well-watered gullies and dense understorey rather than open faces. Stalks are short-range through bush margins.

Game on the permit is red deer, wild goat and wild pig. The three-species mix on accessible foothill country makes this a useful destination for parties wanting to work the bush edges and stream gullies.
