Timms
Timms is a 3,905 hectare Roar block on Molesworth Station and the Clarence grazing lease, in inland Canterbury. Elevations run from 906 m on the lower edges up to 1,982 m on the highest tops, with a median elevation of 1,276 m. 63% of the block sits above the bushline and 21% is true alpine country above 1,500 m — this is mostly above the bushline, with hunting weighted toward the tussock and short-scrub tops.
Slopes lean west, with strong north-west, south-west and south-east aspects giving a balanced spread of country. The wider mix of aspects means hunters have options for working out of the wind, and shaded faces hold cover and feed through the day.
Game on the permit includes red deer, chamois and wild pig. With most of the block sitting in the tops country, this is a solid roar option for hunters comfortable working in open tussock and scrub terrain.

What you can hunt here
This is a roar — the red deer roar peaks from late March into April, and competition for the block is highest then.
Access & getting there
There are no huts or campsites recorded inside the Timms block, and the block is not flagged for air access or WARO. Plan for a foot-in trip from a vehicle access point on Molesworth or the surrounding lease country and be ready to fly-camp.
With most of the country sitting above the bushline, expect long days on the open tops and put time into glassing from spurs and rock outcrops. Conditions on Molesworth can change quickly, so go in with weather contingency and gear that can handle exposure on the higher tops.
