Heruiwi Block Conservation Area is a 1,025-hectare block in the Whirinaki / Rangitaiki permit area, sitting in the inland Hawke's Bay back country on the Rangitaiki side of the central North Island. Elevations run from 333 m to 1,350 m with a median of 750 m, with a thin fringe of country reaching the 1,200 m bushline.
The block faces predominantly east, with strong south-east and north-west aspects. Expect bush-clad ridges and gullies typical of the Rangitaiki–Whirinaki country.
