Blackstone Hill
Blackstone Hill is a 487-hectare public hunting block in Otago, within the Central Otago and Remarkables permit area. Elevations run from about 509 m up to 855 m with a median around 746 m, putting most of the ground in lowland and foothill country.
The block stays below the bushline throughout, so hunting is in bush, regenerating scrub or open faces rather than alpine tops. Slopes lean north-west-facing, which influences where animals feed and bed through the day.
Recorded game on the block includes wild goat and wild pig. It is inland Central Otago tussock and schist country rather than the bigger glaciated drainages further west.

There are no DOC huts or campsites recorded inside the block, so hunters need to base themselves outside the boundary or carry a fly or tent.
