Ohinerata Hunting
Ohinerata Hunting is a central North Island operation working two private blocks — about 5,000 acres in the Taurua region and 2,700 acres near Whanganui — targeting free-range red deer and fallow on unfenced country described as fair-chase.
The Taurua block is accessed by a 20-minute quad ride or 4x4 in drier months, with the Whanganui property having direct driving access. Pricing is NZD with two clear product lines: meat hunts (day or overnight, charged per animal) and two-day trophy hunts for red stag and fallow with management/trophy class pricing. A no-animal guarantee is on offer for trophy hunts.
It's a budget-friendly, kiwi-and-Aussie-oriented free-range option for hunters who want trophy or meat fallow and red deer without the international-trophy price tag of South Island estate hunts.
